Offered here is an exquisite example of a Crazy Lace Agate cabochon. This cab features an ornate pattern in vivid whites, yellows, grays, and sections in light brown. The patterns run the gamut, including fortification banding, lacy scallops, tiny tubes and orbs. These white orbs appear to be Ocean Jasper-like in appearance, creating a remarkable contrast to the sections of agate. There are also sections that are translucent, rendering a terrific 3-D appearance. You can see this effect in the backlit photo. This one is truly a remarkable beauty!
"Crazy Lace" is one of my favorite forms of agate. It is exceptionally intricate, and makes an outstanding collector's piece. This one is good for those interested in collecting the many forms of Agate, Jasper, or sometimes "other" minerals.
Although this is a cab, you can also glue on "bails", or have the piece drilled to accept a pinch bail. Either approach will let you turn this sample into a fine pendant.
