Here is a very interesting Ocean Jasper pendant. It has excellent polish on both sides, and comes with the sterling silver bail and sterling chain necklace. It has beautiful sections of yellow and white intermixed with browns and grays. It also has a few druzy quartz "vugs" or small crystal-lined "caves" lending it a unique appearance. Ocean Jasper is a variety of Jasper which contains variably-colored orbs or spherical inclusions or zones. This material is quite attractive when polished and is used as an ornamental stone or gemstone.
The name "Ocean Jasper" is used for the variety of Jasper found along the intertidal shores of northeast Madagascar. Jasper is a form of chalcedony quartz, and is opaque rather than clear or translucent like regular quartz or agate. It contains an abundance of impurities which give its interesting appearance. There are over 3,000 types of agates and jaspers, and this is a terrific representative of one of them! A great addition to your collection.
(As always, if you don't like the choice of bail or necklace, just contact me and we can make changes.)
