Offered here is a nice Seraphinite cabochon from Australia. This beautiful stone has chatoyant (glistening) fibers interlaced in a dark background. "Seraphinite" is the trade name given to a variety of clinochlore, which belongs to the chlorite group. The name seraphinite comes from the Greek word "seraphim", which refers to a celestial angel with three pairs of wings. This could be due to the silvery feather-like chatoyant fibres that can be seen in seraphinite. These fibres are a result of mica inclusions. Seraphinite is typically dark-green to grey, with contrasting silver feathery fibres that shimmer as the stone is turned in the light.

Although this is a cab, you can also glue on "bails", or have the piece drilled to accept a pinch bail. Either approach will let you turn this sample into a fine pendant.
